Phyllis Eisenstein is another of those writers that you wish had produced more work. But Eisenstein, at least, is still at it. I first came across her work in Born to Exile, about a minstrel who finds he can teleport (a precursor of Steven Gould’s Jumper). I loved its light-reading fantasy fun, and quickly searched out the sequel and Ms. Eisenstein’s other two volume series, The Book of Elementals. She’s said that a third book in this latter series is in the works, but currently on hold. I, for one, hope that it comes through soon, and there’s apparently more in the works. Keep your eyes out for The Walker Between Worlds someday soon.
